Outdated, complex, and inefficient intake systems can become a barrier, preventing low-income individuals from accessing legal assistance. Leveraging easily accessible technologies and integrating artificial intelligence can fundamentally transform legal aid intake. Technology alone isn’t enough, however. Success relies on thoughtful planning, stakeholder-centered design, and effective change management. This session addresses these critical challenges by showcasing an innovative intake portal developed in collaboration with Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) and A2J Tech.
