Alyssa is a developer with a background that gives her a unique perspective on access to justice. Before finding her way to A2J Tech Store, she struggled with addiction. That path led to 3 years of incarceration. While serving her sentence, she devoted her time to learning how to code, and that dedication turned a challenge into a new opportunity. The Last Mile Coding Program is an offline program with limited resources, so Alyssa learned to power through challenges without the help of Google.
After graduating from The Last Mile Coding Program and completing her sentence, Alyssa brought her new skills to the A2J team. Her life experiences have helped her develop compassion, understanding, and a strong drive to overcome obstacles and succeed. She wants to make a difference for other women who are heading down the path she took, because these women are rarely in supportive environments. As Alyssa reconnects with her family and embarks on a new career path, she’s proud to be part of a bigger mission to help people around the world.
